Ron Hildebrand's studio in Reno, Nevada, USA, specializes in black and white portraits, portfolios and figure studies.
Around the age of 12, Ron began dabbling in photography, making contact prints of his parent's wedding negatives in the basement of their home, and he's been involved with photography one way or another ever since.
Even during the late 70's and early 80's, when Ron had a business manufacturing scale models, the promotional needs of the business enabled him to hone his commercial skills for small product photography.

Then about 10 years ago, Ron turned to portrait work. Around 1992 he began occasional forays into figure photography. In late '95, one of his figure studies was selected for publication in the international photography annual Graphis Photo 96. This and other examples of Ron's fine art nude work can be seen in the Fine Art Nude and Figure Study Commission area of this site (while these images are indeed tasteful fine art, we still must request that you be of legal age in your area to visit this section!)
Ron served on the Board of Directors of The Sierra Nevada Association of Professional Photographers (now The Professional Photographers of Nevada) from 1990-2001, and has served two terms as president of that organization.
Ron feels one of his earliest and strongest influences was the magnificent work of Eugene Smith. Smith was not only a great photographer, but also a master printer. Other strong influences are Sara Moon and Jeanloup Sieff.
