Your
system should be set to display more than 256 colors (for instance,
choose 24 bit "true color" in the display setup area of Win95's Control
Panel). Otherwise, colors will not appear accurate, and shadows will appear
harsh with "banding" instead of smooth transitions. If these undesirable
characteristics do seem in evidence when viewing our site, please change
your display settings to a higher level! Your browser preferences should
also be set to "use document specified colors" and fonts.
We
have also designed our pages to use the font Verdana as default.
To view Web pages in Verdana, you must have it as an installed font on
your system. This font was designed for use in Web pages, and is available
as a free download from the Microsoft typography
page. Verdana is a much more graceful font than the more common default
Arial or Times New Roman fonts, and is being used in newer Web sites and
site upgrades more and more often. |
