I get occasional requests for information on the technical aspects of the gallery images. I don't keep any exposure records, and only occasionally keep lighting records, but I can tell you that most images are shot at around f8 to f11. Lighting is electronic flash. I shoot with a Bronica ETRS (645 format), generally with a 150, and sometimes an 80mm lens. I almost always print on Ilford Multigrade FB matt, and use Kodak sepia toner to warm most images. I believe nearly all the images here were shot on Kodak Verichrome Pan 120, a film originally designed for the amateur roll film cameras. It has a wonderful grain structure (very small, tight and sharp) when developed in HC110 dilution B, with a very long tonal scale. A nice alternative is Agfa Pan 100. An exception to this is the blue toned image which was shot on 35mm Ektapress 1600 (a color film, now discontinued), printed on the Ilford fiber matt paper and toned in blue toner. Ron |
